Jakarta BUMDs Targeted to Control 30 Percent of Food Availability

Bank Indonesia told us that our BUMD controls 10 percent. We want it to be improved up to 30 percent

Jakarta Provincial Government is targeting BUMD to control food availability in Jakarta.

Until now, Jakarta BUMDs only control 10 percent of food.

Sandi Ensures to Give Subsidized Meat

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno mentioned his side would try to increase food control in Jakarta through BUMD.

There are three BUMDs which are engaged in food sector; PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, PD. Dharma Jaya, and PD. Pasar Jaya.

"Bank Indonesia told us that our BUMD controls 10 percent. We want it to be improved up to 30 percent," he said, when he attended Bank Indonesia Annual Meeting (PTBI) at Pullman Hotel, Tuesday (12/5).

He ensures to strengthen its system to reach the target. Moreover, Public Service Obligation (PSO) and subsidized food are also provided for needy people.

"Outlets are also optimized to strengthen the distribution network and its cooperation between UKM traders," he added.

Jakarta Bank Indonesia Representative Head, Doni P. Joewono appreciates Jakarta Inflation Control Team (TPID) and Food BUMD performance because inflation in Jakarta can be controlled.

"We hope TPID can improve their performance in maintaining food stability in Jakarta," he expressed.
